Emile Morel: Artiste Plasticien - Lyon, France

Emile Morel: " I do not like to write, my answers are mostly hidden in my pictures!"

BPP: Who are you?  And who you really are?

Emile Morel: I'm Emile Morel, I'm 36 years old and I live in Lyon, France .I'm a bit of a man-child, a kind of eternal Peter Pan.

I am an artist and spend most of my time drawing. Alone in my office, i built day after day the imaginary world in which I take refugee. "The real world outside scared me a little bit and I often do not appreciate it much.

BPP: If you could say something important to others who were listening, what would you tell them?
Emile More : Never listen to people who try to discourage you. If i did, I would never become an artist. Never give up, finish what you started, and especially if it is the project of your life.

BPP:  What is your true dream, the one that keeps you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace and calmness in your heart?
Emile Morel:  Become a recognized artist and established as such. Expose all around the world and meet people around my work, that's my dream. I began to realize it, but the road is still long.

BPP: How is life currently for the people in your country and what would you wish for them and for the planet at large?
Emile Morel: I feel that the French people are depressed. I often hear people think the French are arrogant, I rather think that there is a lack of trust in us for the world and the same time we are proud of our origin. France is a land of immigrants and for me this is what creates its strength. It is time French people understand it and makes this diversity the workhorse for our success.

BPP:
If you had a chance to be a child again would you choose the same life?

Emile Morel: Maybe I would choose the same life. However, I have a question: is it really a good thing to have had a childhood sweet and wonderful (what I had),does  it really helps someone to face effectively the harshness of life? I do not think so. My work speaks for it, it is a garden of delights of a childhood lost forever.

BPP: What was the exact moment that you realized what you wanted to do with your life?  How did you feel at this very moment?
Emile Morel:  For me the issue was never raised, I always drawn, it was always my life.

BPP: Would you like to tell us something we didn’t ask until now?

Emile Morel: I hope you agree, I do not like to write, my answers are mostly hidden in my pictures!

In any case, thank you for the interest you have shown for my work.

Friendships,

Emile Morel
