Yuki Matsumura's portrait
Yuki Matsumura: " If someone can add “individuality” to the Japanese dictionary, and have guts to poke Japanese people’s left cheek and say “Stop being so serious. It’s not the end of the world”, Japan can be a brand new world"
BPP: Who
are you? And who you really are?
Yuki Matsumura: My name is
Yuki Matsumura. I’m a regular girl with normal thoughts, who models sometimes
with many curiosities in; painting, photography, cooking, traveling,
cosplaying, and knitting.
BPP: If you
could say something important to others who were listening, what would you tell
them?
Yuki Matsumura: Be nice to
your curiosities. They are what make you special. Don’t just sit there and say
you want to do this or that. Also,
everything has it’s time.
BPP: What is your true dream, the one that keeps
you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace and
calmness in your heart?
Yuki Matsumura: I hope we
all feel beautiful, just by being ourselves one day. I hope we will stop
thinking people we see on TV or in magazines are trend setters and the
definition of beauty, not forgetting they're not that special without makeup
and a few hours of photoshop. I hope we
can stop comparing. I hope we can finally accept the fact that we are who we
are, and life can be so much easier if we just let it.
My dream is
to change the world, starting with just a little consideration.
BPP: How is
life currently for the people in your country and what would you wish for them
and for the planet at large?
Yuki Matsumura: If someone
can add “individuality” to the Japanese dictionary, and have guts to poke
Japanese people’s left cheek and say “Stop being so serious. It’s not the end
of the world”, Japan can be a brand new world.
BPP: If you
had a chance to be a child again would you choose the same life?
Yuki Matsumura: If I could
still keep the memories of former life, No. I would want to try a completely
new life. But if I could not keep the former life memories, I would probably
end up having the exact same life because a child can never change the parents
and routine.
BPP: What was the exact moment that you realized
what you wanted to do with your life?
How did you feel at this very moment?
Yuki Matsumura: I was told
never to talk about the major life plans until it’s actually happening. Study
shows that if you talk about it, there is a higher chance that you won’t do it
because your brain does the mental gymnastic to trick you that just by talking
about it, makes you feel like you are already doing it. I’m a gymnast myself
but not that flexible enough yet, so my
best answer for this is: Ask me again when my plans came true, and I’d be more
than happy to talk about it.
BPP: Would
you like to tell us something we didn’t ask until now?
Yuki Matsumura: Yes! If you like
food and exploring, please visit my blog at
