Ichiyo Haga's portrait
Ichiyoh Haga: " My true dream is to live with my beloved family and enjoy the love of my people"
BPP: Who are you? And who you really are?
Ichiyoh Haga: My name is (Ichiyoh Haga) Kazuhiro Haga 3dimensional miniature Artisan.
Born in Tokyo in 1948.
I was engaged in the business of apparel original, but it wasn't possible to maintain my profession under the influence of prolonged recession, so I had to change my job and I'm working on my current occupation since 1996.
①
BPP: If you could say
something important to others who were listening, what would you tell them?
Ichiyoh Haga: Both for models and miniatures, or dollhouses, my work is like a diorama but is also very different. I think I am more close to painting. So I always work with the intention of creating a three-dimensional drawing and I feel my ocupation is definitely this of a 3dimensional miniature artist
①
BPP: What is your true dream, the one that keeps
you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace and
calmness in your heart?
Ichiyoh Haga: My true dream is to live with my beloved family and enjoy the love of my people.
①
BPP: How is life
currently for the people in your country and what would you wish for them and
for the planet at large?
Ichiyoh Haga: The world's population doubled in the last 40 years which means, it has increased seven times in the last 200 years. It is obvious that people could no no longer produce any good to earth if this situation continues. So, now we must think to reduce the growth of population. I think humanity had to be aiming the realization of a society that will plan the reduction of the population, of the industry and of the excessive consumption. In such a society, it would also be no need for nuclear power stations which have become a major problem in our country nowdays.
①
BPP: If you had a
chance to be a child again would you choose the same life?
Ichiyoh Haga: No, I would have chosen a different life.
①
BPP: What was the exact moment that you realized
what you wanted to do with your life?
How did you feel at this very moment?
Ichiyoh Haga: During the summer of 1995, I had too much free time at my job, so I made a small hut model with the thought of changing my routine for just one day. I was really surprised by myself because it was such a beautiful work, that I decided to change my job and this decision led to my current occupation. I haven't notice this ability of mine until that day neither I knew I had this talent. If I knew it, I think I couldn't sleep because of my excitement.
Thanks to this break from my usual routine, I was able to find my true passion at the age of 48.
①
BPP: Would you like
to tell us something we didn’t ask until now?
Ichiyoh Haga: I've never done an exhibition abroad so far. I hopeI'll be able to exhibit my work at the United States and Europe, and perhaps everywhere in the world..
