BPP: Who are you? And who you really are?

Alice Savage: I am the Chesire cat!

Now, back to your first question...I am someone who dabbles in drawings since childhood, and that pretty much keeps doing the same now.

And a person made of a lot of dark corners and some shiny sides.

BPP: If you could say something important to others who were listening, what would you tell them?

Alice Savage: Omg. This is difficult!

The most important lesson I got in the last 10 years, both on a personal level and for my art, it's to learn to accept what I am. I spent most of my life trying to be someone I wasn't; someone other people in my life wanted me to be. It brought me so much sufference.

BPP: What is your true dream, the one that keeps you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace and calmness in your heart?

Alice Savage: Hm, right now probably is to get out of the tunnel.

I suffer of really heavy agoraphobia and panic attacks since 10 years, it's something that has destroyed every aspect of my life and forced me to kneel, fall, and start to rebuild myself.

I was not able to go out of my home for some years, I experienced so much fear, desperation, loneliness. Right now it's better, but it's a difficult path and if I could wake up tomorrow, and be free? Be able to go outside without fearing every eye and person and distance, explore life, feel “normal” again. That would be amazing.

Or I should have said something like “To become a super famous artist?” ^^

BPP: How is life currently for the people in your country and what would you wish for them and for the planet at large?

Alice Savage: My country is passing a bad time; the crisis is global, of course, but it hit us hard. Lots of people lost their work, politics are not helping (do they help us at all, anyway?) and there is this general feeling of fear, confusion...

I think we, as humanity, are walking such a destructive, stupid, dumb path, and we are right now starting to pay for that.

We polluted our environment, we gave ourselves the right to kill the other forms of life on our Earth, we have been so arrogant and selfish, with our greed to have more, more, more, more.

I feel we are at a point when we will be forced to change or die.

What I wish for the people of this planet is to start the change; to discover the harmony with the life around us; to discover empathy, compassion, the nourishing our souls need so bad; to dive into the Life that surrounds us, because we are so blind, you know? So busy with what the society dictates for us, that's most of the times something we dont need, and often something that harms us.

I have a deep love for animals, and a big respect for what links all of us living on this planet. It's part of what I try to express in my art, where animals and leafs are tangled into women's hair, in a sort of surreal symbiosis.

So, I wish for everybody to feel this, and start the change.

BPP: If you had a chance to be a child again would you choose the same life?

Alice Savage: No. Thank you but no! Childhood has been not that awesome experience; the more I get far from youth, the better it seems to get.

I am not sure if I choose this life; especially the first part of your life, you dont seem to choose it, and then, at least in my case, you spend a fairly amount of time living the consequences of those people's choices, the effects they had on you. And trying to live up to their expectations.

I guess I would not be what I am without the past experiences, it's the price you have to pay. I am still unsure if the price was worth what I got.

So...heh. I will let you know when I am all grown up and very wise? :p
