I make wooden dolls, make jewelry for women, drawing pictures, writing poems in my native Ukrainian language ... could do much more, but life is too short to learn to do well.

BPP:  What was the exact moment that you realized what you wanted to do with your life?  How did you feel at this very moment?

Vita Soyka: I was never a question what to do with my life - I grew up in a family of artists (my father - a painter, my mother - sculptor).

I drew from early childhood and after elementary school a student went to the artistic field. This

is my life since birth .

How do I feel in this life? ... Great! Despite the difficult compatibility of creativity and everyday

life. If the artist does not like what he does, he needs to find myself in something else.

BPP: Would you like to tell us something we didn’t ask until now?

Vita Soyka:What to tell ?? ... I'll tell you about dolls! I play with dolls all my life! Loved dolls as a

child. However there was a pause in the making of me as a wife and mother, but I found a way

to return to the hobby! Several years ago, I began collecting antique porcelain dolls. This is a

great lesson! In ancient dolls have some kind of mysticism. They radiate a special warmth.

One  day, my collection was replenished with two very old early dolls made of wood. And when

my hands touched these ancestors of modern Barbie - I realized that this is what I want to be

engaged! Making wooden dolls! These two wooden lady told me if something very important

for them and for me. Since then, I consider myself a dollmaker!
