Olga Ziemska:"Look for the place where all things originate"
BPP: Who are you?
And who you really are?
Olga Ziemska: I am an artist that
specializes in sculpture, installation, environmental and public art. I am a natural
wonder seeker and phenomenon locator/revealer. I am in awe.
BPP: If you could say something important to others
who were listening, what would you tell them?
Olga Ziemska:To listen. And to
remember not to forget.
BPP: What is
your true dream, the one that keeps you up at night and if one day it were to
come true you would feel peace and calmness in your heart?
Olga Ziemska: My true dream is to
build a house of my own creation using my own hands and the natural materials
that are available to work with on site, which will be a beautiful site of many
preserved acres of forest, rolling hills and natural wonder. A home of self-sufficiency,
simplicity, warmth and uniqueness made with love and care would bring calmness
to my heart. A return to the earth in a modern rustic way for the future is
peace.
BPP: How is life currently for the people in your
country and what would you wish for them and for the planet at large?
Olga Ziemska:From what I can tell
it is changing in America and it is changing in Poland. It always has been
changing. But I suppose now, as a world, we are starting to slowly realize that
our individual change results in the world around us.
BPP: If you had a chance to be a child again would you
choose the same life?
Olga Ziemska: If I could be a child
again I would choose the same life, but in a different location. For instance,
on the other side of the equator. I would like to try out my childhood in
different countries and in different cultures all around the world. I have a
feeling it would be the same, but very, very different. A 360 degree
perspective.
BPP: What was
the exact moment that you realized what you wanted to do with your life? How did you feel at this very moment?
Olga Ziemska: There has never been
one moment of realization of what I want to do with my life and the idea and
concept of “what I want to do” is in constant flux. The most constant thing in
my life is change, therefore what I want to do with my life is to constantly
change and grow. I have come to this realization over and over again in various
moments throughout my life. These moments are profoundly still in realization.
BPP: Would you like to tell us something we didn’t ask
until now?
Olga Ziemska: Extended hands with a
heart made of energy that hears its own hum.
