BPP: Who are you? And who you really are?
Tzanetos Antypas: A citizen of the world. This is who I am. A person whose soul does not accept frontiers, is not caged by “contracts” and refuses to accept any conventions.
In fact, I am a person who does not get along
with limits! I believe that our limits (and any restrictions that we set to
ourselves or other people set to us) always consists of a game with ourselves.
Our limits exist for us to discover them and reposition them!
BPP: If you could say something important to others
who were listening, what would you tell them?
Tzanetos Antypas: Act in a way that your actions look as if they
are pointing at you, for you.
This is Kant’s ultimate command.
BPP: What is your true dream, the one that
keeps you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace
and calmness in your heart?
Tzanetos Antypas: My big dream is, that there will be a time when
the Greek state of Health Welfare , will
not need PRAKSIS. I dream of our self abolishment ! Then I will feel that I have really accomplished
the unachievable.. This is what I dream, this is what I fight for! This is what
all people in PRAKSIS fight for, we have silently agreed on that…this is why we
take part in this adventure. Our main goal is – our abolishment- this is our
common vision.
BPP: How is life currently for the people in
your country and what would you wish for them and for the planet at large?
Tzanetos Antypas: In our days most people in Greece live in a deep financial crisis, which is
a result of social crisis and an ethical values’ crisis! Human dignity,
self-esteem, self-respect are jeopardized every day! My only wish for this
situation, is to be able to detect the key point of change in our life. We do
not to wait for a Deus ex machina to accomplish that. We need to try as
individuals… this is when we will see the way out from the tunnel in which we are today.
BPP: If you had a chance to be a child again
would you choose the same life?
Tzanetos Antypas: Even if I had the chance to live again a hundred times…. This would be the
life that I would choose to live. A life that myself would surprise me every
time! A life that I would “dive” into
challenge without knowing the outcome!
BPP: What was the exact moment that you
realized what you wanted to do with your life? How did you feel at this very moment?
Tzanetos Antypas: It was in 1999, at an African province ( Dowa, Malawi) where I was asked to
create, on behalf of Doctors Without Borders, a program to fight HIV/AIDS. I
met a woman (native) holding a baby in her arms. The mother had just been
diagnosed with HIV. The child was born healthy. We were trying to convince her
not to breast feed it, so that the virus would not be transmitted to the child.
She responded “I have no options either to let it die from starvation, either
to feed it with my milk. What would you do, if you where in my place?”
That was the moment that I promised myself, that I will use all the power
that I have to try and change this world.

Ο Τζανέτος Αντύπας είναι Υποψήφιος Διδάκτωρ στο Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο με βασικές σπουδές στην κοινωνική εργασία, στην
οικονομία και Διοίκηση και με μεταπτυχιακό στη Διοίκηση της Υγείας (MSc Health
Management). Ξεκίνησε την ανθρωπιστική του δράση στους Γιατρούς Χωρίς Σύνορα Ελλάδας το 1996. Το
1996 συνέβαλε στην ανάπτυξη της κοινωνικής και ιατρικής παρέμβασης των Γιατρών Χωρίς Σύνορα
μέσα στην Ελλάδα.
Δημιούργησε, εφάρμοσε και συντόνισε τα προγράμματα «Εντός
Συνόρων (Next Door Projects)» των Γιατρών Χωρίς Σύνορα. Το 2000 από το πόστο του Διευθυντή
Αποστολών των MSF Ελλάδας δημιούργησε προγράμματα αναπτυξιακά σε 9 χώρες (Μαλούι,
Ζάμπια, Παλαιστίνη, Αιθιοπία, Γεωργία, Αρμενία, Ρωσία, Ελλάδα, Σερβία) κάθετα προγράμματα
άμεσης παρέμβασης (Λίβανο,Ρωσία), ενώ συμμετείχε σε παρεμβάσεις επείγουσας
ανθρωπιστικής βοήθειας στη Σερβία (βομβαρδισμοί) στη Τουρκία (σεισμοί), Ελλάδα (σεισμός),
Ινδία (σεισμός), Μοζαμβίκη (πλημμύρες), Ζάμπια (επιδημία ιλαράς…). Σήμερα είναι
Πρόεδρος Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου στο Σωματείο PRAKSIS το οποίο συστάθηκε τον Οκτώβριο του 2004
και αποτελεί τη συνέχεια των ΕΝΤΟΣ ΣΥΝΟΡΩΝ προγραμμάτων των Γιατρών Χωρίς Σύνορα Ελλάδας.
Τα προγράμματα της PRAKSIS παρέχουν ιατροφαρμακευτική κάλυψη, κοινωνική
βοήθεια, ψυχολογική υποστήριξη και νομική συμβουλευτική σε κοινωνικά και οικονομικά
αποκλεισμένες ομάδες σε όλη την ελληνική επικράτεια. Με κεντρικά «ορμητήρια» τα δύο ΠολυϊατρείΑ της
PRAKSIS, τα στελέχη και οι εθελοντές του οργανισμού στηρίζουν μετανάστες, πρόσφυγες,
τσιγγάνους, παιδιά των φαναριών, Έλληνες άπορους/ άστεγους/ ανασφάλιστους, θύματα διεθνικής
σωματεμπορίας, αποφυλακισμένους, τοξικοεξαρτημένους, μονογονεϊκές
οικογένειες. Ο Τζανέτος Αντύπας παράλληλα με την εθελοντική και ανθρωπιστική του δράση από
το 1995 συμμετέχει σε προγράμματα Συμβουλευτικής και Εργασιακής αποκατάστασης
Ατόμων με Ειδικές Ανάγκες, καθώς και σε προγράμματα που απευθύνονται σε Πομάκους,
τσιγγάνους, παλιννοστούντες, μακροχρόνια άνεργους και αποσκοπούν στην επαγγελματική τους
ένταξη και αποκατάσταση.
Αντιπρόεδρος στο Ελληνικό Δίκτυο για την Καταπολέμηση της
Φτώχειας, Αντιπρόεδρος στο
Ελληνικό Δίκτυο για το Δικαίωμα στη Στέγη και την Κατοικία,
Αντιπρόεδρος της Ομοσπονδίας των Εθελοντικών Μη Κυβερνητικών Οργανώσεων, Μέλος της Επιτροπής
του Κοινωνικού Διαλόγου για το AIDS, Αντιπρόεδρος στην Ελληνική Πλατφόρμα για την
Ανάπτυξη. Ταυτόχρονα είναι Εκπαιδευτής Εκπαιδευτών Συνεχιζόμενης Επαγγελματικής
Κατάρτισης ενηλίκων και άλλων
ευπαθών πληθυσμιακών ομάδων (πιστοποίηση ΕΚΕΠΙΣ) καθώς και
Εκπαιδευτής Εκπαιδευτών Στελεχών Συνοδευτικών Υποστηρικτικών Υπηρεσιών (πιστοποίηση
ΕΚΕΠΙΣ). Τέλος, είναι πιστοποιημένος Εκπαιδευτής Εκπαιδευτών από το Ινστιτούτο
Διαρκούς Εκπαίδευσης Ενηλίκων, καθώς και από την Εθνική Σχολή Δημόσιας Διοίκησης και
Αποκέντρωσης.
