The awesome Murud Janjira Fort. Maharashtra India.
The Murud Janjeera fort! This fort has the history of never been won over by another ruler.
This fort was constructed by the trader communities of South Africa and is spread across 24 acres of land mid sea.
Currently this fort is under the supervision of govt of India but the valuable things inside the fort are kept with the original owners of the fort, the rulers of Janjeera fort. They have a palace on the mainland, a little before reaching Murud. The palace is out of bounds now.
An amazing tranquil boat ride to reach the fort

Now in ruins, the fort in its heyday was a full-fledged living fort with all the necessary facilities, e.g., palaces, quarters for officers, mosque, a big fresh water tank, etc.
The fort is approached by sailboats from Rajapuri jetty
