BPP: Who are
you? And who you really are?
Teresa Duck: Firstly my name is
Teresa I am an artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne in north east England. (UK)
As for who I am, I am
an individual, just like everyone else, no more, no less. On the question of
who I really am, that’s hard to say.
Some days I’m an idealist, others a realist. Some days I’m a pessimist, some an optimist, some
days I’m a giver, some a taker and so on. I have many facets to my personality
just as others do. I think the only
thing which makes me, me, is that my experience of life is truly my own and
individual to myself, that is what makes me who I truly am.

BPP: If you could say
something important to others who were listening, what would you tell them?
Teresa Duck: First and foremost, find
out who you really are, get to know yourself, then you can figure out what you
want or need out of life.

BPP: What is your true dream, the one that keeps
you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace and
calmness in your heart?
Teresa Duck: My only true dream is
that I will always be able to create new things, and never lose my sense of
wonder at the world.

BPP: How is life
currently for the people in your country and what would you wish for them and
for the planet at large?
Teresa Duck:That’s a hard question.
The simplest answer I can give is that from my experience it’s good. I’ve always have enough to eat and drink, a
safe place to live, access to an education all of which I’m more than thankful
for. I wish the same for the planet at large.

BPP: If you had a
chance to be a child again would you choose the same life?
Teresa Duck: Yes because for good
and bad I wouldn’t be myself without it.

BPP: What was the exact moment that you realized
what you wanted to do with your life?
How did you feel at this very moment?
Teresa Duck: I don’t think there
was a point when I decided what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I had to paint though, that however
was not a choice, it is as essential to eating or breathing to me. I couldn’t stop even if I wanted to. So perhaps my life decided what it wanted me
to do rather than the other way around.

BPP: Would you like
to tell us something we didn’t ask until now?
Teresa Duck: It’s very simple but
sometimes you need to just stop and smell the roses. I find the simplest
pleasures are often the most rewarding.
