Cecilia Perez:" I was born and i will die being an Artist, I’ve never denied it; it’s a huge gift from God"

BPP: Identity: Who you are? And who you really are?

Cecilia Perez: I am from Colombia, a born artist . I was born at  April 21,1949. The art is in my veins, a marvelous gift that God gave me. I remember myself, since I was born, i hold a brush in my hand. I studied Plastic Arts.  I'm working since i was a little girl in the areas of drawing with pencil, with watercolor and with oil.  I love this beautiful discipline. I also worked at sculpture for more than 18 years.  How I enjoyed it!

Cecilia Perez: Now I have been dedicated to Haute Couture for more than 28 years. Each item of my collections is a work of art:  unique and unrepeatable.

Cecilia Perez: This beautiful job has been inherited from my mother who loved all types of crafts.  Since I was a  little girl, I used to see her sewing.  All crafts were of my absolute taste with the exception of doing patterns which we were obliged to learn.  I never practiced it but it has been a magnificent tool for me. I develop patterns on a mannequin like if they were drawings.

Cecilia Perez: I’m the mother of two adorable children:  Maria Clara and Juan Fernando, who both reside in the United States.  It has always been my purpose to leave seeds of love. 

I’m registered both in Europe and the United States as Cecilia Perez Haute Couture.  I hope that when I pass on, my name will continue to be under my daughter’s management.

BPP: If you could say something important you've learned all these years of your life, to the other people and they were able to listen to you, what would you like to tell them?

Cecilia Perez: The most important thing I’ve learned in life is that love is necessary throughout for a child to live happy. Children should have interest and attention from the adults at all their activities and everything can be explained through discussing and giving to them the good example.

BPP: What is your real dream, the one that keeps you awake at nights and if one day it will come true, you will feel your heart calm and peacefull?

Cecilia Perez: My dream is to have a family full of love, HEALTH and peace always allowing others to develop themselves in those areas they like most.  But, my greatest dream of all is to see all the children of this the world happy and  receiving the love they need, without any type of mistreatment.  How happy would all of us be than!

BPP: How is life for the people in your country today? What do you wish to happen to them and to the people of this planet at large?

Cecilia Perez: This question is answered in part on previous question. In our country we have all the problems that an underdeveloped country has; we need education, food and a lot of love.

BPP: If you had the chance to be a child again, will you choose to do the same life you do?

Cecilia Perez: My life would be exactly the same.  By saying these words, I thank God.  My life started in a family where I only knew love from my parents.

BPP: Which exactly was the moment you understood what you want to do in your life? How did you feel at this very moment?

Cecilia Perez: Since birth, I wanted to be a mother and an artist.  I’ve been a Mother with capital M.  I have two  excellent people!

BPP: Something yours: Do you want to tell us something we didn't ask you until now?

Cecilia Perez: Artist:

 I didn’t developed myself in its full potential, since I never had the opportunity and I’m not famous but day after day, I enjoy my art; I will never be able to leave it.   I was born and i will die being an artist, I’ve never denied it; it’s a huge gift from God.

Wherever I’ve done a show, people express their infinite admiration for my work and that has given me a lot of satisfaction.  I have a book to be edited; I hope circumstances will allow it.
