Shashikant Singh: "Make sure you are not chasing money, but you are chasing a passion "

BPP: Identity: Who you are? And who you really are?

Shashikant Singh: Personally, I am a fellow creative soul who loves to express myself creatively and look forward to getting to know others. J  Professionally, a self taught visual artist in practice based in India. I started my career much younger at 19, when i would create (draw, sketch, and paint) solely for the thrill of innovation and travelling around and feel good about it. My education years exacerbated the struggle between art, science and commerce. In the end, Art was the victor.

A self-taught artist, from traditional art to computer graphics and with this through grounding, I came to realize that the complexities of different mediums of arts play a smaller role in the wider picture of life and that social interaction was the key to my further development.

My experience spanned across Digital Dreams USA, Marvista Entertainment, MUV Studios, Jadoo Works, Maya Entertainment Ltd, Digital Asia Concepts Ltd, Bangkok, DASA, Warner Bros, Customer Centria to name a few. I am personally in love with digital/cross-platform approach to arts, technical innovation, computer graphics, photography, theatre, music and always on a constant lookout to do something innovative with ‘art and technology mix’. Now a days, many people may feel there are lots of innovation that is already been done but he personally feel there are still many techniques and trends waiting to get explored in computer arts and other cross-platforms. I want to do something on those areas.

I also want to keep up an invariable exchange of deliberation and dreams with the industry and artists to put together only one of its kind ideas to work with as the demand for artists and art business continues to grow and mature in the following years to come.

BPP: If you could say something important you've learned all these years of your life, to the other people and they were able to listen to you, what would you like to tell them?

Shashikant Singh: There is no shortcut. You have to work hard to earn it. So, follow your passion, stay focused and devote all your mental and physical energy into something you love to do. And most important, Make sure you are not chasing money, but you are chasing a passion. The passion has to something installed within you.

BPP: What is your real dream, the one that keeps you awake at nights and if one day it will come true, you will feel your heart calm and peacefull?

Shashikant SinghMe and my ten ambitious art projects. Trust me, they are big ones. I suppose to finish it before 2014. I prefer working on short term goals, so no real dreams as of now but yes, will love to direct a movie someday.

BPP: How is life for the people in your country today? What do you wish to happen to them and to the people of this planet at large?

Shashikant Singh: India is a developing nation with a vast pool of talent at every corner and cultural heritage. I feel sad when young people blindly follow the western culture and ignore the real ‘thing’ what they have gifted with. I want to see India growing with a right political flavor with more power and money to the people.

BPP: If you had the chance to be a child again, will you choose to do the same life you do?

Shashikant Singh:  Yes, Why not?

BPP: Which exactly was the moment you understood what  you want to do in your life? How did you feel at this very moment?

Shashikant Singh:   It was 2009 when I had a lot of artistic and managerial responsibilities overloaded by the management without much of my participation to it. I had some great ideas but weren’t given a chance because of my little age. That day I actually realized that I am just acting as a fuel of other people’s thinking and ideas and I wanted to do something about it.
I left my job and founded ‘Baroque’ to follow my dreams

BPP: Something yours: Do you want to tell us something we didn't ask you until now?

Shashikant Singh:   My inspiration: Undoubtedly my parents for their never ending love and support.
