Robert Heap Hmmond: "To succeed in anything, you must have a burning passion for that subject"

BPP: Identity: Who you are? And who you really are?

Robert Heap Hammond: My name is Robert Heap-Hammond and I am English.  I started having art lessons when I was in my early thirties, as a release from a very stressful job.  I was taught by an illustrator and this gave me a fantastic grounding in painting techniques.  After 3 years of weekly lessons I realized that I was more interested in colour and dynamics, and not so interested in mirroring on canvas what I could see.

To further my studies I left my job and went to college to develop my interest in abstract art.  At the same time as this I started a web design business – at the start of the Internet boom.  Over a number of years I have combined my interest in technology and art and now produce Digital Art.

I think my purpose in life is to brighten up peoples environments with ultra-contemporary artwork.   Too many people are frightened to step out of mediocrity and into a new enlightened world.

BPP: If you could say something important you've learned all these years of your life, to the other people and they were able to listen to you, what would you like to tell them?

Robert Heap Hammond: To succeed in anything, you must have a burning passion for that subject.

BPP: What is your real dream, the one that keeps you awake at nights and if one day it will come true, you will feel your heart calm and peacefull?

Robert Heap Hammond: To live at one with nature and not to have my life influenced by others greed.

BPP: How is life for the people in your country today? What do you wish to happen to them and to the people of this planet at large?

Robert Heap Hammond: My country is suffering from the greed culture that was developed in the 80’s and 90’s.  It pains me that those people that created this culture are still influencing society, and still getting richer from others miss-fortune.

BPP: If you had the chance to be a child again, will you choose to do the same life you do?

Robert Heap Hammond: I think my parents took the wrong baby home from the hospital as I feel that I should be lying by a warm swimming pool, living the life of a playboy.

BPP: Which exactly was the moment you understood what you want to do in your life? How did you feel at this very moment?

Robert Heap Hammond: I spent three years working for a government agency as a specialist business adviser; advising on e-commerce.   This is the most rewarding job that I have had, as I felt that by helping businesses I was giving something back to society.

BPP: Something yours: Do you want to tell us something we didn't ask you until now?

Robert Heap Hammond:To be happy, you need to be free!

    1. I find that when I have a passion for a subject, I just don't want to stop learning about it, and developing it.

Thanks for your comments from Quebec!
