Elisa Gallea: " I really wish nice people could change things"

BPP: Who are you? And who you really are?

Elisa Gallea: I'm Elisa Gallea, 32years old, OOAK Doll Artist, from Italy. Well, what I make…is what I want to do! Sculpting my dolls is my passion…I want to communicate making several “little children”…I want creating dolls that show my way to see childhood world and all its feelings.

BPP: If you could say something important to others who were listening, what would you tell them?

Elisa Gallea: If you have a dream…follow it! I love dolls since I was a child…I starting as a doll collector, one day I discovered a simple way for making cloth dolls…and my adventure started! My first attempt with polymer clay was so bad…but I told myself that with passion all is possible! I followed my dreams…and now I live in passion!

BPP: What is your true dream, the one that keeps you up at night and if one day it were to come true you would feel peace and calmness in your heart?

Elisa Gallea: Go on making this life, making better and better…living a life full of love, friends and dolls as I do now!

BPP: How is life currently for the people in your country and what would you wish for them and for the planet at large?

Elisa Gallea: Life is not easy in Italy now…we have a lot of problems, social, economic and so on…like in everywhere…I really wish nice people could change things…too much bad feelings around! I really hope things can be in a positive way!

BPP: If you had a chance to be a child again would you choose the same life?

Elisa Gallea: Yes, for sure! I had a beautiful childhood! My parents were- and are- really nice persons…and great mother and father for me, teaching me what is important in life, values and feelings.

BPP: What was the exact moment that you realized what you wanted to do with your life? How did you feel at this very moment?

Elisa Gallea: Maybe…the first time my sculpted doll had “human” features! I understood I’m able to share all my feelings when I create…during sculpting I’m in joy and peace…and it’s wonderful giving to my dolls’ eyes a “drop of life”!

BPP: Would you like to tell us something we didn’t ask until now?

Elisa Gallea: I like making girls of about 7-8 years most of all! All my creations are OOAK (One Of A Kind) from about 60 to 80 cm…but sometimes 30 cm as well… I use the best supplies such as human or mohair wigs, glass eyes, leather shoes…handmade dresses of precious fabrics…vintage and lovely furnitures! Usually my dolls have names of “feelings” or “atmospheres”… “Once Upon A Time”, “Vanity”, ”, “Joy”, “Sweet Bundles” and so on…I try to capture a specific moment in the children’s life!
