BPP: Something yours: Do you want to tell
us something we didn't ask you until now?
The
Rugged Sea
you have a home.
it's your safe haven.
it lies on the shore.
everyday, you stand at the beach.
you imagine what lives over there.
you swim
but you never go far.
there seems to be nothing other than the
vast sea.
you're happy just swimming, nowhere.
one day, you see someone on a boat out at
sea heading further beyond.
a small nothing to look at boat.
she sees you too.
now, you know something lives across that
sea.
there must be.

you start noticing her everyday.
you can't help it.
she sees you too.
everyday, you see others on the beach.
some you wish you had the guts to walk up
to
but you never do.
one morning, as you walk to the beach,
she's already there.
she smiles at you.
you know you're in trouble.
your heart is about to run off with her.
she's breathtaking.
you can feel the fear rise in you.
she tells you she lives on an island.
across
from you.
you say you never knew for sure there was
an island,
you sort of guessed but didnt think there
was.
until you saw her on her boat, that first
time.
she smiles, remembering.
she says; yes, no one ever goes there.
that's why i love it there.
the sea is rugged.
it keeps people from coming.
you're just looking at her.
you see words flying out of her mouth.
you're lip reading.
you're in a daze.
she's got you.
she sort of knows you're looking at her too
hard.
she figures it must be cos she looks so
different from anyone around you.
she has dark piercing eyes and black hair.
she tells you she's got to get going.
and invites you over.
whenever you'd like to go over.
you ask her how do you get there.
she tells you where there's a boatman who
would take you to the island.
you say ok.
her goodbye was her smile.
you watch every step that she takes
until you no longer see her.
she never looks back.

each morning,
you wake up earlier hoping to catch a
glimpse of her
but you don't see her.
in the evenings, you've started looking out
for her too.
you stand by your window at nites
and try and look out as far as you can.
you can't see this island she claims to be
on.
but you see it on maps.
so you know she is real.
you can't get her out of yr mind.
it feels like she's living beneath your
skin.
you now try talking to others.
but they bore you.
it now has started living in you.
she lives in you.
the rugged sea.
' why don't I have the guts to get on a
boat to go to her? '
you can't answer it.
the rugged sea.
you can't see whats beyond it.
this is why you are apprehensive.
you fear what you cant see.
but let not fear drown you.
cos it wont be the sea.
no other risks in life pose a greater fear
than love.
the rugged sea, looks that way
from where you're standing.
it's view is of peace and calm,
over the other side on that island.

I see you when I wake, I see you when I close my eyes. My boat is heavy and waterlogged and it would not make the journey but my 'Soul' my Astral soul will cross eternity to reach you. You are the breath in me and I am suffocating. Why have you entered my life when I am about to leave it? To show me your light, perhaps, that I may see it when we next meet.....
ReplyDeleteI am glad to count you among my friends your an awesome unique individual and you have inspired me no end xx
