BPP: If you could say something important you've learned all these years of your life, to the other people and they were able to listen to you, what would you like to tell them?
Paul Clark: I think what I’ve learned over the years is not to get too big an ego over a big piece of work. People don’t like a big ego. Be humble over what you have accomplished and remember that there is always something new to learn. And that there is always someone younger and faster than you. But they are always interested to learn from you and your experiences, but at the same time you can also learn something from them, you will never know EVERYTHING. This industry is constantly shifting.

BPP: What is your
real dream, the one that keeps you awake at nights and if one day it will come
true, you will feel your heart calm and peacefull?
Paul Clark: To
have my own book published one day of my work and to direct my first movie, I have
a brilliant idea for one, just need to write it and find the money.
BPP: How is life for
the people in your country today? What do you wish to happen to them and to the
people of this planet at large?
Paul Clark: Things
are a bit tough in my country at the moment.Τhe Press and Media are not allowed to report on corrupt doings of
our government, while we are
in a recession and unemployment is very high and people are going hungry. Our government is too interested in themselves and
money, to care about a country that is hungry and being bullied by politics and
police. We need food, we need art, we need freedom of expression. I would like
our country to be given more grants for art and movies, we have a lot of talent
here, a lot, but they cannot afford to study or hire/buy equipment to realize
their dreams…

BPP: If you had the
chance to be a child again, will you choose to do the same life you do?
Paul Clark: I
would have chosen the same life/career path, but I would have studied more and in
the right direections, I was very confused when I left school. If I knew then
what I know now I would have studied the right path. I come from a very small
town called Empangeni, there are no colleges and most men that live there are
either construction contractors or car salesmen. I had to move to Johannesburg (7
hours away) when I was 23 to follow my dreams. And I had to teach myself
EVERYTHING!

BPP: Which exactly was the moment you understood what you want to do in your life? How did you feel at this very moment?
Paul Clark: I think the first moment I opened Arena Magazine. I loved the photography, the photographer was Rankin, the design, the writing. I wanted to be able to turn around and say that I took that photo, the photo was of a girl called Michelle Ryan, on the cover, and was just so emotionally exciting that I bought it based on what it made me feel, I wanted my work to do the same for others, and I get messages from people that they say how much it stirs them emotionally, money was never motivation. The emotion was the motivation. Which is the same reason I wanted to get into film, I want to make people laugh, cry, feel, think and love.
BPP: Something yours:
Do you want to tell us something we didn't ask you until now?
Paul Clark: There
is something I can't really talk about, but I can tell you its going to be very
big and exciting project. Its going to be called “Destroy”!
