Clare Smith: "Time for change"

BPP: Identity: Who you are? And who you really are?

Clare Smith:  My name is Clare Smith from Adelaide Australia. I am a mother of eight children. I  own my own business which involves children’e entertainment, as well as catering for events and parties. I also do body painting which I really enjoy for it’s creativity aspect.
I support people in the world who are making a difference. I have friends in India, Thailand and Africa who are running schools for slum children, teaching laughter therapy, or running orphanages.

BPP: If you could say something important you've learned all these years of your life, to the other people and they were able to listen to you, what would you like to tell them?

Clare SmithIt is important to define your goals, and the things you want to do with your life, and work toward accomplishing those things. Enjoy the journey though, don’t rush to get there, have fun along the way. As well as that, cultivate your friendships and learn from each other.

BPP: What is your real dream, the one that keeps you awake at nights and if one day it will come true, you will feel your heart calm and peacefull?

Clare Smith: I  wish to start up a charity called “Time for Change”, to raise more money to send to the people who are working in other countries to make a difference. I have friends in India, Thailand and Africa who are running schools for slum children, teaching laughter therapy, or running orphanages. I want to support these people in any way I can.  I believe that the answer to breaking the bonds of poverty, and abuse of children is education of children and empowerment of woman.

I also have a desire to make amends somehow to the indigenous people of Australia as I have seen that they have been misplaced and misunderstood and have lost their culture in many ways. I feel that though this was not my doing personally, it is part of the history of the race that I come from. I would like to do what I can to help bring healing and positive changes to their lives.

BPP: How is life for the people in your country today? What do you wish to happen to them and to the people of this planet at large?

Clare Smith: I live in a country that is a very good, free country, but there is a threat to the constitution of this country being broken down. I worry that people coming to Australia will bring about changes through the introduction of some of their traditions that will create bondage in the future. Though there are other aspects that I really love and embrace,I would like the people coming to live in Australia to experience the freedom, because of  constitution that has been established here, and not try to make us change our way of life.

For example, many schools won’t sing Christmas Carols, nor do Nativity scenes at Christmas for fear that it will offend those who are non-Christian, even though this has been part of our life that we have grown up with. I wish for the people of the planet at large to have the blessing of the message of Jesus, (not of the traditional established religious message, but the simple love of Christ message)! He taught us to love our neighbours, (other cultures) pray for those who use us. Love our enemies, lay down our life for our friends, and to forgive. His message of Love is what can bring the changes the world needs.

BPP: If you had the chance to be a child again, will you choose to do the same life you do?

Clare Smith:  Yes, but I would prefer to have been educated from my childhood, to embrace and try to understand other nationalities and cultures.

BPP: Which exactly was the moment you understood what you want to do in your life? How did you feel at his very moment?

Clare SmithAs a child growing up, I started to feel that I thought differently to others, and I was searching for meaning in life, and for my purpose in life. At 18 years old, I had a young person talk to be about the message that Jesus gave. Though I resisted it at first, I realized that the things He spoke about were the things I desired to live. I received Jesus as my Saviour right before my 19th birthday. From that moment I made a decision that I would serve Him and bring His message of love and freedom to others. I have made an effort to do that ever since.

BPP: Something yours: Do you want to tell us something we didn't ask you until now?

Clare Smith:  I believe the problems of the world come down to one thing: a lack of love. Love is the greatest force of earth, and a lack of love the cause of the greatest destruction. I want to be someone who at the end of my life, can look God in the eye and say “ I have tried to make a difference through love”.
